Basketball Game Preview: Aletheia Christian Academy Lions vs. Laurel Hill Hoboes

The Aletheia Christian Academy Lions will face off against the Laurel Hill Hoboes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Aletheia Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Tate and lost 57-40. The loss put an end to the Lions' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the defeat, Aletheia Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaylee Nance posted 16 points and six boards. Nance has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Violet Martin, who earned eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Laurel Hill hadn't done well against Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hoboes strolled past the Jaguars with points to spare, taking the game 59-43. The Hoboes pushed the score to 49-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.

The win got Laurel Hill back to even at 1-1. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
