Volleyball Recap: Salpointe Catholic Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Salpointe Catholic walked away with it. They came out on top against the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Salpointe Catholic found their leader in sophomore Reagan Burgle, who had 28 digs and two assists. Burgle is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Despite the loss, ALA - Queen Creek still got an impressive performance from Miley Hakes, who had 31 digs and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Sabey, who had nine digs.

Salpointe Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 33-8. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 26-10.

As of now, neither Salpointe Catholic nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
