Basketball Recap: Amaya Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Springfield over Rossview

Springfield lost against Rossview back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Springfield Yellow Jackets fell 59-48 to the Rossview Hawks.

Springfield lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amaya Walker, who posted 14 points. Walker is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Xavionna Farmer was another key player, going 6 of 15 en route to 16 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Springfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Rossview, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Springfield will square off against Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Rossview, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Rossview Hawks face off against the Northeast Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rossview's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Northeast has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
