Football Recap: Heritage Starts off Right with Win over Wakefield + How To Watch

Heritage took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 29-20 win over the Wakefield Wolverines. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Perry, who threw for 185 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 93 yards. Those 185 passing yards gave Perry a new career-high. A healthy portion of Perry's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Owen Wood, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Heritage didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Derek Cooley and Seth Rucker. Rucker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will square off against Millbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wakefield, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Holly Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
