Baseball Recap: Jim Thorpe's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Moravian Academy last Tuesday, Jim Thorpe came back down to earth. The Olympians came up short against the Saucon Valley Panthers on Wednesday, falling 11-1.

Jim Thorpe's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-5. As for Saucon Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jim Thorpe will face off against Pottsville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Saucon Valley, they will take on Wilson Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
