Preview: Red Lodge/Roberts vs. Florence-Carlton Falcons
Red Lodge/Roberts has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Florence-Carlton Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Red Lodge/Roberts had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-18 victory over Three Forks/Willow Creek.
Meanwhile, Florence-Carlton put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Columbus as Florence-Carlton made off with a 36-14 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Florence-Carlton just coasted through the last quarter.
Florence-Carlton can attribute much of their success to Gabriel Hartsell-miller, who rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and Mason Arlington, who rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns.
Red Lodge/Roberts has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Whitehall/Harrison and 1-8 Roundup (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.1% over those games). As for Florence-Carlton, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
