Volleyball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

Newman lost against Mount St. Charles Academy back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Newman came up short against Mount St. Charles Academy, falling 3-0. Newman has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Newman was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-23, 25-18.

Leading Mount St. Charles Academy to victory were Chloe Marcotte and Sophia Baeta. Marcotte had six aces and three digs, while Baeta had 13 digs and two aces. What's more, Marcotte racked up 16 assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Newman now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Newman and Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marianapolis Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
