Softball Game Preview: Reeths-Puffer Rockets vs. Caledonia Fighting Scots

The Reeths-Puffer Rockets will head out to challenge the Caledonia Fighting Scots at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Reeths-Puffer will be strutting in after a victory while Caledonia will be coming in after a defeat.

Reeths-Puffer is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Fruitport with a sharp 14-1 win on Wednesday. The Rockets not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 13, 2024 (when they won 18-0).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Caledonia was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They fell 4-1 to Reeths-Puffer. The contest marked the Fighting Scots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Reeths-Puffer and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Caledonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Reeths-Puffer beat Caledonia 4-1 in their previous meeting on Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
