Basketball Game Preview: Muhlenberg Muhls vs. Berks Catholic Saints

The Muhlenberg Muhls will take on the Berks Catholic Saints in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Muhlenberg took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Conrad Weiser as they made off with a 69-45 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Muhls' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Scouts are ranked 269th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berks Catholic). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 66-32 victory over Halifax. The win was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on three straight.

Berks Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Muhlenberg, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Muhlenberg ended up a good deal behind Berks Catholic when the teams last played back in January, losing 57-42. Can the Muhls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
