Football Recap: Westran Takes a Loss

Westran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Scotland County Tigers. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Westran still got an impressive performance from Gage Adler, who threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. An impressive showing, but Adler really ramped things up playing D: he picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss). Jordan Black made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Westran's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Scotland County, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Westran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 44-14 loss against Crest Ridge/Chilhowee on the 10th. As for Scotland County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-0 defeat against Putnam County on the 10th.
