Basketball Recap: Lake Shore Gets the Win

Lake Shore hadn't done well against Iroquois recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lake Shore Eagles snuck past the Iroquois Redhawks with a 46-40 victory. The 46-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Lake Shore has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Iroquois, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Lake Shore Eagles duke it out with the Frontier Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Iroquois, they will face off against Pioneer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
