Basketball Game Preview: Gompers Prep Academy Eagles vs. Monarch Royals

The Gompers Prep Academy Eagles will square off against the Monarch Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Last Thursday, Gompers Prep Academy came up short against High Tech NC and fell 37-28. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Raptor recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Monarch played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by High Tech Mesa 78-30. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-14.

Gompers Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Monarch, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Gompers Prep Academy couldn't quite finish off Monarch when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 54-51. Thankfully for Gompers Prep Academy, Chris Prado (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
