Volleyball Recap: Vassar Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Caro on Tuesday, Vassar came back down to earth. The Vulcans came up short against the Cass City Red Hawks on Thursday, falling 3-0. If the Vulcans were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Red Hawks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Vassar was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Cass City's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-17, 25-21.

Cass City found their leader in freshman Lydia Hartzell, who had 12 digs and five assists. Hartzell is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Vassar dropped their record down to 6-6-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cass City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vassar will venture away from home to face off against Caro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cass City, they will head out to take on Freeland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
