Volleyball Recap: Vassar Vulcans vs. Cass City Red Hawks
After flying high against Caro on Tuesday, Vassar came back down to earth. The Vulcans came up short against the Cass City Red Hawks on Thursday, falling 3-0. If the Vulcans were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Red Hawks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
While Vassar was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Cass City's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-17, 25-21.
Cass City found their leader in freshman Lydia Hartzell, who had 12 digs and five assists. Hartzell is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Vassar dropped their record down to 6-6-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cass City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
