It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Kennedy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Washburn Millers 9-7. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Millers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Noelia Fierro was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allie Sheehan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
Kennedy's record is now 5-0. As for Washburn, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
Coincidentally, Kennedy and Washburn will both be playing St. Louis Park the next time they take the field. The Millers will host the Orioles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
