Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Keshequa's Winning Streak

Keshequa dropped their record down to 10-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 5-1 to the Caledonia-Mumford Raiders. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

As for Caledonia-Mumford, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games.

For Caledonia-Mumford's part, Grace Beach spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on eight hits. Beach has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mia Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Colleen Talty, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Keshequa will venture away from home to face off against Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Caledonia-Mumford, they will face off against Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
