Baseball Recap: Carlmont Takes a Loss

Carlmont managed to slip by Wilcox the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Carlmont Scots came up short against the Wilcox Chargers on Tuesday, falling 8-2. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Carlmont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Massey, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave Massey a new career-high. Another was Aidan O'Driscoll, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Carlmont's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Wilcox, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Carlmont will square off against Hollister at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilcox, they will challenge Valley Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Wilcox's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Valley Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
