Basketball Recap: Nordonia Comes Up Short

Nordonia lost against Twinsburg back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Nordonia Knights took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Twinsburg Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Tigers are ranked 66th).

Among those leading the charge was Mackenzie Sweeney, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giana Taylor, who posted four points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Nordonia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Twinsburg, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Nordonia will challenge Wadsworth at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Twinsburg, they will take on Solon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Solon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Twinsburg likes a good challenge.
