Basketball Recap: Pine River Area Triumphs

Pine River Area won the last time they faced Northern Michigan Christian, and Mason Gugle did his part to make sure it happened again. The Pine River Area Bucks enjoyed a cozy 62-44 win over the Northern Michigan Christian Comets on Thursday thanks in part to Gugle, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Stone Walker was another key player, putting up eight points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave him a new career-high.

Pine River Area's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Northern Michigan Christian, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Pine River Area will square off against Roscommon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pine River Area is facing Roscommon at the right time seeing as Roscommon is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Northern Michigan Christian, they will take on Beal City at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
