Recap: Riverside Bulldogs vs. South Delta Bulldogs
If the Riverside Bulldogs were feeling good off their 72-34 takedown of the St. Joseph Fighting Irish last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Riverside fell 67-59 to South Delta on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Riverside came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while South Delta is ranked 203rd).
Leading South Delta to victory were Ahmani Lee and Jamichael Green. Lee dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Green scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Lee's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amarion Sanders, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for South Delta, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Riverside is on the road again on Friday and play against Simmons at 7:20 p.m. on December 15th. South Delta will be home for the holidays to greet Humphreys County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
