Baseball Game Preview: Kamiak Knights vs. Marysville Getchell

The Kamiak Knights will head out to challenge Marysville Getchell at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kamiak has three straight victories, Marysville Getchell has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Kamiak can't be too worried about heading out to take on Marysville Getchell: they just beat Ingraham at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Knights walked away with a 6-1 win over the Rams on Saturday.

Cole Armstrong-Hoss looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colby Koga, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Andrew Fetty was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Kamiak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Stanwood hit Marysville Getchell with a 12-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Marysville Getchell came up short against Stanwood, falling 20-0.

Marysville Getchell's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Kamiak, their record is now 12-4.

Kamiak took their victory against Marysville Getchell when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 17-6 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do Marysville Getchell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
