Softball Recap: Dwyer Find Success

While Dwyer's victory against Martin County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Dwyer Panthers had just enough and edged out the Martin County Tigers 12-11. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Brielle Cardoso and Fatima Masri did most of the damage at the plate: Cardoso went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Masri went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Cardoso launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Sejnoha, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Dwyer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Dwyer back to even at 3-3. As for Martin County, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Coming up, Dwyer will take on John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. John Carroll Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Martin County, they will face off against Lincoln Park Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Martin County also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 8.3 runs per game.
