Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. Union Titans

The Mountain View Thunder will venture away from home to take on the Union Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Mountain View came up short against Skyview and fell 11-7. The loss continues a trend for the Thunder in their meetings with the Storm: they've now lost six in a row.

Lucas Wolfley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Brendon Lawson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Union beat Clackamas 4-1 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Not much got past Rylan Howe, who gave up just five hits to keep Clackamas off the board. Howe has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Union now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mountain View, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Mountain View came out on top in a nail-biter against Union in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
