Basketball Game Preview: Central Lafourche Trojans vs. Bourgeois Braves

Central Lafourche and Bourgeois are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Central Lafourche Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Bourgeois Braves at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Central Lafourche ended up a good deal behind Assumption and lost 44-29.

Meanwhile, Bourgeois came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-20 victory over the Bears. While the Braves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Bourgeois is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Central Lafourche, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Central Lafourche didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bourgeois in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Lafourche since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
