Basketball Recap: Sulphur Bluff Gets the Win

Sulphur Bluff won the last time they faced Union Hill and things went their way on Friday too. The Sulphur Bluff Bears managed a 45-39 win over the Union Hill Bulldogs.

Despite the loss, Union Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore EJ Mowery posted 19 points along with eight boards and three steals. Mowery's afternoon made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Payton Dunn was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.

Sulphur Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Union Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sulphur Bluff will host Avinger at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Hill, they will welcome Saltillo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
