Volleyball Recap: Stuarts Draft Takes a Loss

Stuarts Draft lost against Waynesboro back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Little Giants. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Stuarts Draft started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-20.

Stuarts Draft's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Waynesboro, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8.

Stuarts Draft and Waynesboro could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Stuarts Draft will challenge Alleghany at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (231 vs. 41). Meanwhile, Waynesboro (ranked 144th) will meet Wilson Memorial (ranked 37th) at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
