With a playoff game on the line, the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 51-39. Winning may never get old, but Niobrara/Verdigre sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Josilyn Miller was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Miller is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eve Kucera, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Bayard lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lexi Fiscus. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Scarlett Norman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
