Baseball Recap: Porter Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pace last Tuesday, Porter came back down to earth. The Cowboys lost 12-1 to the Vikings on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Porter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Esquivel, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Porter has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Pace, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 2-13 record.

Looking ahead, Porter will head out to square off against Weslaco East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Pace, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Donna North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
