Football Recap: KIPP College Prep Comes Up Short

If KIPP College Prep was feeling good fresh off their 50-0 takedown of Richard Wright Public Charter School last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a blow against the Digital Pioneers Academy Pythons on Friday, falling 36-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 26-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Laroy Williams had a dynamite game For Digital Pioneers Academy., rushing for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Steven Lane got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

KIPP College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. KIPP College Prep is set to take on their familiar foe KIPP DC Legacy College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Digital Pioneers Academy will face off against rival Sidwell Friends at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
