Soccer Recap: Stone Bridge's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Stone Bridge fought the good fight in their overtime game against Briar Woods on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Stone Bridge came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Briar Woods are ranked 74th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Stone Bridge fell to 5-1. As for Briar Woods, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2-2.

Stone Bridge and Briar Woods will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Bulldogs see the pitch they'll take on Independence at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Briar Woods, their break will end when they face Potomac Falls at 7:15 p.m. on the 21st.
