Basketball Recap: 19 Straight Home Wins for Barron Collier

Barron Collier extended their home winning streak to 19 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Spencer Clayton. The Barron Collier Cougars blew past the Golden Gate Titans 68-47 on Friday thanks in part to Clayton, who posted 34 points and five assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Kamal Hyppolite and Sam Powell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hyppolite went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points and five boards, while Powell had 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Solomon Powell, who scored six points.

Barron Collier's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Golden Gate, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Barron Collier has already played their next matchup, a 67-57 loss against Sarasota on the 18th. As for Golden Gate, they will take on Gateway Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden Gate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.
