Basketball Recap: Stone Bridge Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Stone Bridge was the 62-42 winner over Briar Woods when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Stone Bridge Bulldogs fell just short of the Briar Woods Falcons by a score of 67-65 on Friday.

Stone Bridge's loss came despite strong showings from Kevin Reyes and Kedric Golston. Reyes went 7 for 14 en route to 16 points in addition to six boards and five assists, while Golston dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Reyes' third in a row with at least ten points. Carter Burnes was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Stone Bridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Stone Bridge's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Briar Woods, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Stone Bridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-66 victory against Independence on the 21st. Briar Woods has also already played their next matchup, a 62-47 defeat against Potomac Falls on the 21st.
