Basketball Recap: Laurens Raiders vs. Wade Hampton Generals
The Laurens Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 70-47 defeat at the hands of Wade Hampton. Laurens has not had much luck with the Generals recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Laurens' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zoe Young, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Nyri Allen who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Allen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Anderson, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Laurens has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Wade Hampton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Eastside the next time they take the court. Laurens will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Generals will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
