Softball Recap: Taft Wildcats vs. Chavez Titans

Taft won the last time they faced Chavez and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 9-5 win over the Titans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Rilynne Stenderup was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jaycee Edgar was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylee Owens, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Taft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chavez only posted an OBP of .353.
