Baseball Recap: North Valley Baptist's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Valley Baptist put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack with a sharp 15-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 last Tuesday.

North Valley Baptist let Josh Medikondu and Jarrett Sumastre run wild. Medikondu scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1, while Sumastre went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Medikondu is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

North Valley Baptist was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .412 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

North Valley Baptist's record is now 3-0. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Valley Baptist will venture away from home to take on Summit Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Summit Tahoma has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.2 runs per game on average), something North Valley Baptist will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pinewood at 3:30 p.m. on April 8. KIPP San Jose Collegiate is facing Pinewood at the right time seeing as Pinewood is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
