Basketball Recap: Pikes Peak Christian's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pikes Peak Christian waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 39-23 win over the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pikes Peak Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Megan Ferguson, who posted four points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Ferguson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Fletcher, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards.

Pikes Peak Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Cripple Creek-Victor still got an impressive performance from Rylee May, who scored 12 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 52.2% of Cripple Creek-Victor's points, marking the fourth time in a row May has had more than a third of the team's points.

Pikes Peak Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.
