Preview: Coalfield Yellow Jackets vs. Rockwood Tigers
Coalfield is 1-9 against Rockwood since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Coalfield Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to face off against the Rockwood Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Coalfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Coalfield pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Wartburg Central by a score of 61-58.
Meanwhile, Rockwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 54-41 to Harriman.
The losing side was boosted by Ty'varion Pryor, who scored 19 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alexander Norton, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Coalfield bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Rockwood, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
Coalfield lost to Rockwood on the road by a decisive 55-40 margin in their previous meeting on December 1st. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pryor, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds.
