Volleyball Recap: Leopold's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Leopold waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bowling Green Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Saturday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Leopold was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13.

Leopold can attribute much of their success to Malia VanderMierden, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces VanderMierden has posted over her last 13 games.

Leopold's victory bumped their record up to 13-1-2. As for Bowling Green, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Looking ahead, Leopold will look to defend their home court on Monday against Meadow Heights at 7:00 p.m. As for Bowling Green, they will venture away from home to square off against Centralia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
