Softball Recap: Ridgeline's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Ridgeline dropped their record down to 19-14 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Bear River Bears by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-6 loss back in April.

Kylie Jorgensen was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-3. Anne Wallace was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

As for Bear River, they are on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 23 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On Bear River's side, Kate Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Wilson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luci Roche was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marley Tisdol, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

As of now, neither Ridgeline nor Bear River have any future games scheduled.
