Somerset Prep and the Ridge View Blazers will face off at 3:35 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Somerset Prep is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Somerset Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Coral Springs on the road to the tune of 71-44. Considering Somerset Prep has won four matches by more than 26 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Somerset Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Riley Stoker, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Stoker's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Gagnon, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Ridge View was fully in charge last Saturday, breezing past Mastery Charter North - Pickett 52-20 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Ridge View has managed all season.
Ridge View relied on the efforts of Destiny Drakeford, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Simone Johnson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucia Bailey, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Somerset Prep's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Ridge View, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
