Football Recap: Henderson Starts Season with Win at Home

Henderson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They secured a 40-35 W over the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Warriors were the better team in the second half.

Several Colonials players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Bongard, who rushed for 66 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, and also picked up 54 receiving yards. Michael Giangiulio was another key player, gaining 113 total yards and two touchdowns.

Coming up, Henderson will challenge Hatboro-Horsham at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, they will square off against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
