Basketball Recap: Riverside Skates Past North with Ease

Riverside won the last time they faced North and things went their way on Friday too. The Riverside Beavers breezed past the North Rangers to the tune of 85-57. With the Beavers ahead 45-21 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Riverside was led to victory by Drew Brown and Kyle Harden. Brown shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards, while Harden went 6-for-8 to rack up 14 points and three steals. Harden is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Durkin, who went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points.

North's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylon Rolf, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points. Nate Sagendorph was another key player, putting up 13 points.

The win made it two in a row for Riverside and bumps their season record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points over those games. As for North, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Riverside has already played their next game, a 75-69 defeat against University School on the 8th. As for North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-41 loss against South on the 11th.
