There's no place like home for Hammond Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past the Gary West Side Cougars 3-0 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.

Hammond Central walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-20, 25-20.

Alejandria Bustos paced Hammond Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Bustos got some help from Julianna Galan and her 32 assists. Bustos was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

The win got Hammond Central back to even at 8-8. As for Gary West Side, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Hammond Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech on the 17th. Hopefully Gary West Side paid attention to the Wolves' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th.
