Wingfield extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Wingfield Falcons vs. Oak Grove Warriors

This season hasn't been kind to the Wingfield Falcons, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They fell 63-51 to Oak Grove on Friday. While losing is never fun, Wingfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Oak Grove is ranked 106th).

Wingfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Arrington, who scored 20 points along with 5 steals. The game was Arrington's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Kentrell Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 3 steals.

The last time Wingfield won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost three straight away matchups, they've bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Oak Grove, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Wingfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Murrah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Sumrall at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Sumrall is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
