Canyon del Oro entered their tilt with Mountain View on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Mountain Lions by a score of 5-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Sammy Hudgens was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Kayla Hendrix, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Canyon del Oro hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View struck out 12 times.

Canyon del Oro's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon del Oro will welcome Sahuaro at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dorados are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against Catalina Foothills at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.82 runs per game on average), something the Mountain Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
