Softball Recap: Billings West Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Billings West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Billings Senior Broncs by a score of 15-11. This was a revenge game for the Golden Bears: when they faced off against the Broncs two weeks ago, they had to take a 6-2 loss.

Tatum Bush was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylie Watt, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April. Ryane Viker was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.

Billings West lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Billings Senior only launched one home run.

Billings West has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Billings Senior, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-4.
