            Football Recap: Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets vs. Houston County Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Thomas County Central faced Houston County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Yellow Jackets were the clear victors by  a  31-7 margin over the Bears. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won eight matchups by 24  points or more  so far this season.
 Christian Lawrence continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 153 yards and a pair of  touchdowns, while also catching one  TD. His rushing production has been exceptional  as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 114  rushing yards. Another player making a difference was  Jaylen Johnson, who threw for 198 yards and two  touchdowns.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Thomas County Central's defense and their five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Houston County's side was  Jacoby Herring, who made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss) and snagged  two  interceptions.
 Despite the loss, Houston County still got an impressive performance from   Austin Stinson, who rushed for 102 yards and one  score on only ten carries. Stinson's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.

The  win keeps Thomas County Central at an undefeated 9-0. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 53.2 points this season. As for Houston County, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 8-1.
 Looking ahead, Thomas County Central is taking a road trip to  square off against Coffee  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. That  game will pit two of the most dominant  backs against one another:  Lawrence and  Kentavius Debruce. As for Houston County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee County  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31  points  in their last three contests.
