Baseball Recap: Cottonwood Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Cottonwood and Payson squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Cottonwood had to settle for second. They fell 10-5 to the Lions. The Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 8-4.

Angel Mavarez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Cottonwood's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. As for Payson, their win bumped their record up to 10-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lions beat Cottonwood by a score of 14-9 later that day.
