Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Maricopa Rams

The Mountain View Mountain Lions will square off against the Maricopa Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.

Last Monday, Mountain View had to suffer through a 73-41 loss at the hands of Catalina Foothills. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Mountain View got top-tier performance from Isaiah Romero, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points. Romero is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Meek, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Maricopa had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Vista Grande on Monday, sneaking past 63-61.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Maricopa, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-11.

Mountain View didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Maricopa in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, but they still walked away with a 62-57 win. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Maricopa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
