Softball Recap: Trinity Wolves vs. Ferndale Wildcats
Trinity easily dispatched Fall River last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wolves fell just short of the Ferndale Wildcats by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.
Brynn Sommerfeld put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Sommerfeld wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adriana Seele, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.
Trinity's record is now 9-11. As for Ferndale, their record now sits at 12-7.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Trinity by a score of 8-5 later that day.
