Softball Preview: Foard Tigers vs. West Iredell Warriors

Foard is 10-0 against West Iredell since May of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Foard Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the West Iredell Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Foard is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering North Lincoln just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to the Knights. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, Foard couldn't push the score so high this time.

Riley Vogel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Leonhardt, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a stolen base.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, West Iredell was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell victim to a tough 10-0 defeat at the hands of South Iredell. West Iredell has not had much luck with South Iredell recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Foard's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for West Iredell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
